Turkish president's daughter marries in Istanbul

Baku-APA. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's daughter Sumeyye Erdogan married Turkish businessman Ozdemir Bayraktar's son Selcuk Bayraktar at a ceremony in Istanbul on Saturday, APA reports quoting Anadolu agency.

Among witnesses to the wedding were political leaders, former prime ministers and presidents, plus senior figures from Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party.

The wedding at the Kucukcekmece Yahya Kemal Beyatli venue was conducted by Istanbul’s mayor, Kadir Topbas.

Witnesses included the previous president of Turkey, Abdullah Gul; Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu; Parliament Speaker Ismail Kahraman; Chief of the Turkish General Staff Gen. Hulusi Akar; member of the presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bakir Izetbegovic; Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif; former Lebanese prime minister Saad Hariri; and Albanian Premier Edi Rama.

Anadolu Agency correspondents reported that ministers, ambassadors, mayors, artists and businessmen, plus a great number of other guests, also attended.

Intense security measures were taken by police before the ceremony.
