Baku. Turbat Bagirova – APA. Today, an event was held at the Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) within the festival “American Days”.
APA reports the event was attended by the US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Robert Cekuta, Acting Rector of AUL Dunyamin Yunusov, pupils, and public and media representatives.
D. Yunusov, noting that Azerbaijan is a multicultural country, said that the festival “American Days” will contribute to peace, friendly and mutual understanding. According to him, such events make peoples of both countries closer.
R. Cekuta stressed importance of the festival and said promotion of diversity of cultures contributes to people to live friendly.
Thereafter, Chovgan and Zirve dance group performed. The event ended with exhibition of handworks on diversity of cultures in America.
The America Days showcases the diversity of American culture to the citizens of Azerbaijan and promotes mutual understanding between the two countries. The festival will last till May 21.
