According to him, Armenia’s Defense Ministry itself confirmed that the majority of the military servicemen killed in the early April fighting were Armenian citizens.

Official information issued by the Armenian Defense Ministry clearly showed that those killed in the fighting in Nagorno-Karabakh were the ones born in different parts of Armenia, from where they had been recruited, Jahangirov said.

After a while, Armenian retired servicemen claimed Armenia had not sent any servicemen to Nagorno-Karabakh and that the separatist regime’s own army had fought the Azerbaijani Army, he noted, calling this stupidity.

Jahangirov went on to say that former Armenian defense minister Vagharshak Harutiunyan’s statement that Armenian armed forces did not participate in the Nagorno-Karabakh fighting was baseless and ridiculous as well.

“Then what about the military servicemen who were Armenian citizens and were killed in the latest fighting? What had they been sent to Nagorno-Karabakh for? How come Armenian military servicemen were sent to the front lines in occupied Azerbaijani territories, participating in the fighting and getting killed? And finally, if Armenian soldiers, weapons, and equipment had not been involved in the fighting in Nagorno-Karabakh, then why the Armenian deputy defense minister, intelligence and communication chiefs were dismissed following the latest defeat?,” he underlined.

The reserve colonel also pointed out other conflicting statements by the Armenian side.

He said that there are a lot of videos reflecting former Armenian servicemen voluntarily joining the clashes in Nagorno-Karabakh in early April.

In addition, the Armenian side itself confirmed that an Azerbaijani drone had attacked a bus carrying “Syunik volunteers” in Aghdere, killing numerous former servicemen, according to Jahangirov.

He noted that anarchy, panic and lack of soldiers in the Armenian army have reached such a level that they are forced to recruit old criminals and 70-80-year old men in order to calm young soldiers trembling with fear of meaningless death.

“Armenia’s 168.am website reported on May 4 that ex-mayor of Vanadzor city, Andranik Harutyunyan, had been seriously wounded in the clashes in early April. He lost one of his legs in the mine blast and received shrapnel wounds. He is undergoing treatment in Khankendi now. And it’s nonsense that retired Armenian servicemen continue to make such statements, which reveal the hypocrisy of the Armenians,” he said.

Jahangirov went on to add that no battalion consisting of Nagorno-Karabakh Armenians has joined the clashes since the beginning of the conflict.

No population left in Nagorno-Karabakh to join self-defense units, he noted.

“It is undeniable fact that the Karabakh war is being carried out by the Armenian armed forces. The list of the Armenian servicemen killed and wounded in the recent hostilities reveals it. Over 95 percent of the killed personnel are Armenian citizens. This is an undeniable fact,” he concluded.
