Foreigners and stateless persons, who will travel to Azerbaijan during the World Chess Olympiad, will be able to get visas in the structural divisions of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry’s consular department in the country’s international airports.
The basis for the issuance of visas will be considered a document confirming the accreditation in accordance with the relevant rules of FIDE, and the official invitation of the Operating Committee of the Games. Visas will be issued from 20 August, 2016 to 20 September of 2016.
Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan are instructed to ensure logistics of visa issuance to foreigners at International Airports of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has been instructed to inform the International Chess Federation (FIDE), the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), International Air Transport Association (IATA) and relevant bodies of foreign countries on the simplification of visa procedures for the persons arriving in Azerbaijan in connection with the World Chess Olympiad; ensure the placement of information on the facilitation of visa procedures for the persons arriving in Azerbaijan in connection with the World Chess Olympiad on the internet resources of the Ministry, as well as embassies and consulates of Azerbaijan in foreign countries.
The State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan will inform airlines providing regular public service on the Republic of Azerbaijan route about visa facilitation procedures for entering the Republic of Azerbaijan.
