Session of working group on Caspian legal status kicks off in Ashgabat

The meeting in Ashgabat was attended by delegations from Azerbaijan, Russia, Iran and Kazakhstan.

The purpose of the meeting is to continue the discussions of the provisions of the Convention on the legal status of the Caspian Sea related to water and biological resources of the sea.

During the first day of the meeting, heads of delegations outlined the positions of their states on the legal status and the various aspects of cooperation in the Caspian Sea.

They also exchanged views on a wide range of issues of interest, continued the search for mutually acceptable solutions on the provisions of the draft convention on the legal status of the Caspian Sea, which is being developed taking into account the proposals of all littoral states.

The session will continue its work tomorrow.
