People’s poet Zalimkhan Yagub dies - <span style="color: red;">VİDEO

According to information, the poet died at 16:00.

Note that, the national poet, born in the Kapanakchi village of Georgia’s Bolnisi district on 21 January 1950, had been suffering from kidney failure.

From 1975 to 1978, he worked in "Azerkitab" system, "Kitab passaji", a book-seller's shop, prime vendor, served as head of the department.

From 1987 to 1994, he worked as the editor of the publicity department of the Association of Voluntary book lovers, and served as head of the department from 1975 until 1985. He worked in “Yazichi” editorial department of publishing poetry, and headed the department.

From 1995 to 2005, he served as an MP of the Azerbaijani Parliament.

His first poem was published in the newspaper “QÉ™lÉ™bÉ™ bayrağı” in Georgia SSR on October 4, 1966.


In 1983, he was elected a member of the Union of Writers.

On August 29, 2008, he was elected chairman of the Union of Ashugs at the Fifth Congress of Ashugs.

In 1994, he was elected a member of the Pardon Commission under the President of the Republic.

From 1995 to 2000, within official delegations, he has been in workings visits to China, Saudi Arabia, Germany, the USA, Switzerland, Sweden, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, France, and Iraq
