The decree notes that in consideration of the proposals put forward by the State Committee which has been created in connection with the offshore platform fire in order to ensure the execution of the Azerbaijani president’s decree dated 5 Dec. 2015, AZN 15,000 will be allocated from the reserve fund of the 2015 budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the family of each oilman killed or lost in the accident.
The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic SOCAR is due to pay the aforesaid amount to families of those killed or lost as well as those who were injured in the accident. SOCAR is also instructed to take necessary measures for the treatment and rehabilitation of the victims.
The Ministry of Finance is due to ensure the payment of one-time financial assistance to the families of those killed or lost, in keeping with the list presented by the state committee. The Ministry of Finance together with the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population is instructed to take measures to fulfill the obligation of legislative acts and insurance contracts signed by SOCAR as an employer.
The order comes into force on the day of its signing.
