Addressing the meeting of Justice and Development Party (AKP), Davutoglu recalled that he paid traditional visits to Cyprus on Dec.1 and Azerbaijan on Dec.3 after the party gained victory in the Nov.1 parliamentary election in the country.

Davutoglu said that during the talks with President Ilham Aliyev in Baku, they discussed all aspects of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey.

The PM also expressed gratitude to President Aliyev for the statements he made either in private and expanded meetings or the press conference in Baku. President Aliyev’s statement “Azerbaijan will always stand by Turkey whatever happens” once again made clear it to everyone who is a friend of ours.

Davutoglu went on to add that the people he met on the streets of Baku said they were praying for Turkey during the Nov.1 election. “I once again felt that the victory in the Nov.1 election was not only the victory of 78 million people, but also all who support Turkey in this geographical area.

Referring to all supporters of Turkey in this geographical area, including in Cyprus and Azerbaijan, Davutoglu noted that Turkey will spare no efforts to solve the problems of its supporters as they prayed for it at night.
