It also said Russian authorities should play closer attention to vessels operating in Russian ports on the Azov and Black Seas, suggesting increased scrutiny of Turkish shipping operations.
The Kremlin said the measures would remain in place indefinitely until the situation changes.
Russian officials have indicated that they could add additional sanctions, including halting construction of a gas pipeline extension in the Black Sea area and construction of a nuclear power plant that Russia is undertaking in Turkey. The order signed on Saturday didn’t mention those projects.
