APA’s southern bureau reports that the minister was accompanied by the ministry’s high-ranking officers, as well as head of Lankaran City Executive Power Taleh Garashov and other officials. Usubov met the brave sergeant’s family members and expressed his condolences to them.
Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree to award police sergeants Vugar Nasibov and Ismayil Taghiyev posthumously with Azerbaijani Flag Order for their special merits for ensuring the socio-political stability in Azerbaijan and for bravery. According to the decree, on November 26, 2015, an armed criminal group, which was operating under the guise of religion and was planning to forcibly change the constitutional order in Azerbaijan by staging provocations, mass riots and terrorist attacks, was neutralized in Baku’s Nardaran settlement as a result of the special operation conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Consequently, two police officers died heroically.
It should be added that Ismayil Taghiyev was weightlifting champion in Azerbaijan, master of sports, participant of international competitions and European champion among veterans. He had 3 minor children.
