Bank of Moscow decides to seek recognition of Telman Ismailov bankrupt

Baku. Malahat Najafova – APA. The Bank of Moscow has submitted to arbitration court the claim about recognition by the bankrupt former owner of the Cherkizovsky market, the founder of the group "AST" Telman Ismailov, said the Russian Kommersant newspaper.

As they say in a lawsuit filed on 1 October in the Moscow arbitration court from September 2012 to February 2014, the Bank has provided three loans totaling more than 230 million dollars of open company "ruslayn 2000" and Tropicano Dutch Finance B. V. Both companies, according to Bank of Moscow, were associated with AST and its beneficiary Telman Ismailov gave personal surety about the repayment of the loan within the deadline.

Neither the interest nor the principal amount, as follows from the claim, were not paid. As a result the total debt of Ismailov as guarantor subject to all penalties and outstanding interest by October 1 reached 286,4 million dollars. The Bank of Moscow decided that since Ismailov "for a long time fails to perform a monetary obligation", he is insolvent. In this regard, the Bank's lawyers asked the arbitration recognize Ismailov and untenable "to impose the procedure of restructuring of debts of a citizen".

The press service of VTB group, in which the Bank of Moscow, confirmed the filing of the claim. The businessman himself has not commented on the situation.
