Baku. Mubariz Aslanov – APA. The Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO) has called for a penalty against Flynas airline which undertook to carry out the return flights due to the delay and problems faced by Azerbaijani pilgrims in their return from Hajj as well as pilgrims’ protest at the Jeddah airport.

The Saudis laid down the condition that Flynas will carry out the return flights. So the sides came to an agreement. For this reason, Flynas airline is responsible for the problems faced by Azerbaijani pilgrims in their return to the country, the CMO told APA.

“They explain it saying that there was crowd and overload at the Jeddah airport. However, these reasons are not adequate when it comes to the problems our pilgrims had out there. So we have appealed to AZAL that the Saudi airline be penalized for failing to fulfill its obligations and causing problems for Azerbaijani pilgrims,” said the CMO.

Flynas is a royal airline company and it’s the only airline that is funded from the state budget of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This company has a deal with AZAL on carrying pilgrims. According to the agreement, the Saudi airline has undertaken to carry Azerbaijani pilgrims back to their country.
