Turkish Deputy PM, who is in New York to attend the 70th session of the UN General Assembly, tweeted on Sept.30 that 16 Turkish workers were handed over to the Turkish Embassy in Iraq.
“I had a phone conversation with some of them, their health conditions are good. Measures are being taken for their soonest return to Turkey,” he wrote.
It was not announced how the workers were set free.
A group of Turkish workers has been abducted by masked men in military uniforms from a construction site in Baghdad.
