Baku – APA. Suicide bombers attacked the central district of Iraq's capital Thursday, killing at least 12 people.
One bomber killed eight civilians and a police officer, while also wounding at least 18 people in the Bab al-Sharji area, according to Voice of America.
Another attacker in al-Wathba Square killed two police officers and three civilians. The second blast also wounded 12 people.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blasts in two predominantly Shi'ite neighborhoods in Baghdad, but they resembled the frequent bombings there by Sunni militants during the past decade.
