Baku. Ramiz Mikayiloglu - APA. “Other problems appeared in the construction works in turkey part of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway. The companies working at that part had actually suspended construction works in the worksites except tunnel”, said the Deputy Prime Minister Abid Sharifov.

However, he did not clarified why the construction works had been suspended: “I don’t see any need for this. After appearance of the problem, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev gave a task to me in this regard. The meeting with Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet DavutoÄŸlu was related to this issue. The meeting was also attended by head of Azerbaijan Railways OJSC Javid Gurbanov, representatives of other state bodies. Discussion was held with Ahmet DavutoÄŸlu, construction works have been restored in Turkey part of BTK railway. An agreement was reached that Turkish and Azerbaijani representatives will meet once a month on Georgian border. From Turkish side, this responsible person is Deputy Prime Minister Yalchin Akdogan. I believe that this will support acceleration of works”.
