Baku-APA. As we reported, criminal case was launched and investigation is underway on the fact of the death of Bahruz Hajiyev, suspected in the sale and use of narcotics, in Mingachevir city police department, APA reports citing press services of Interior Ministry and Prosecutor General's Office.
It was revealed that Security officer of the criminal investigation department, a senior police lieutenant Shahlar Shahlarzade violating the requirements on the detention and protection of suspects, did not ensure security of suspected Bahruz Hajiyev and it led to grave consequences.
According to the results of the internal investigation, by order of the Minister of Internal Affairs senior police lieutenant Shahlar Shahlarzade was dismissed from service in internal affairs agencies. At the same time, Head of Mingachevir city police colonel Alaskar Badalov was severely reprimanded for a lack of appropriate organization of the maintenance of suspects and weak control over subordinates.
According to the report, the investigation on the events is under the personal control of the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and the Head of State is regularly informed about the developmnet of the investigation.
