Baku. Malahat Najafova – APA. One of the leaders of Azerbaijani community, Ilham Taghiyev was killed in Kherson oblast, Ukraine on the night of August 17.
APA reports quoting khersonline.net that the body of the businessman was found in his “Mercedes”.
Police suppose that Taghiyev was attacked by unknown persons on the way to the garage he rented. He was hit with blunt object on his head, then removed from the car and kicked. After killing him, the murderers took the key of Taghiyev’s house from his pocket and went to rob the apartment. It is not known how much money and jewelry the killers robbed.
Taghiyev’s wife and daughter were in Azerbaijan during the incident. His son is living in Kiev.
Taghiyev was a local representative of the regional company selling semi-finished meat products. The murder was reportedly committed for the purpose of seduction.
A criminal case has been launched on the fact.
