APA’s local bureau reports that 10 films covering Korea's history, culture, geographic position and traditions will be demonstrated from July 31 to August 6.

Participants of the festival laid flowers at a statue of the national leader Heydar Aliyev in Aghdash city. Then, they were informed about the history, population and economic potential of Aghdash at the meeting held in the building of the District Executive Authority. Keepsakes were presented to head of the District Executive Authority Tofig Ibrahimov, Korean Ambassador to Azerbaijan Choi Suk-in and SEBA President Ruhangiz Heydarova at the event.

The Azerbaijani-Korean relations and similar characteristics between the two nations were talked about in detail in the opening ceremony of the festival held in Heydar Aliyev Center. SEBA President Ruhangiz Heydarova hailed the importance of the Korean Film Festival. She expressed gratitude to President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador, MP Mehriban Aliyeva for implementation of this project at a high level.

Korean ambassador to Azerbaijan Choi Suk-inn spoke in his speech of the two countries’ national and moral values, noting that Azerbaijan-Korea relations in recent years have been growing in an upward trend and that he hopes the films to be displayed during the festival will give Azerbaijani viewers a wider insight into Korea.

The ambassador was told that a number of Korean films have so far been displayed in Ganja, Lenkeran, and Sumgayit. From August 7 to 15, Qabala district residents will have a chance to watch these films.

Later on, “The Orderly Man”, a 116-minute film, was displayed.
