Baku. Hafiz Heydarov – APA. 96 out of 97 crimes of deliberate murder recorded in the first half of this year in Azerbaijan have been uncovered, Prosecutor General Zakir Qaralov said on Friday at an expanded operational consultation held at the Prosecutor General’s Office, APA reported.
According to Zakir Qaralov, in the first half of this year, the prosecutor’s office, in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies – primarily the ministries of interior affairs and national security, has ensured the taking of necessary measures in the areas of the protection of public-political stability, further strengthening of the fight against crime, and protection of state independence, human rights and freedoms, comprehensive reforms in prosecutor bodies have been continued at a new level, and proper actions have been taken for the efficiency in certain activity directions to increase and for the existing deficiencies to be eliminated.
In another series of efficient investigative operations carried out in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, 96 out of 97 crimes of deliberate murder – as well as 41 crimes committed in secrecy, many of them especially grave crimes that resulted in two or more fatalities – recorded in the first half of this year have been disclosed. The disclosure of these crime have been 98.9 percent insured (88.4 percent in the same period of 2014).
It was emphasized that during the reporting period the investigations of some particularly grave crimes committed under uncertain conditions, as well as premeditated murders were carried out by the Investigation Department on Grave Crimes under the Prosecutor General's Office at the high quality in accordance with the criminal procedure law, and noted that persons committing crimes were identified and brought to justice, investigation of cases on crimes causing public resonance, as well as cases on irregularities revealed in the activities of branches and representative offices of a number of Azerbaijani and foreign non-governmental organizations were carried out professionally.
