UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric told reporters in New York that the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon extended his "deepest condolences" to the government and people of Turkey and that the UN condemns "any and all terrorist attacks".

In response to a question by Anadolu Agency, he said the UN also specifically condemned PKK's recent terrorist strikes that have killed a number of Turkish servicemen during the latest wave that began when 32 victims were killed in southern Sanliurfa province on July 20 in a suicide attack by a man linked to Daesh.

Turkey, which is also grappling with a string of attacks by Daesh, has carried out a wave of arrests of members of both groups and conducted airstrikes against Daesh and PKK targets in Syria and Iraq, respectively.

Turkey, NATO, the U.S. and the EU list PKK as a terrorist organization.
