Baku - APA-Economics. Today, Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) held a Board Meeting.
According to AZAL’s press service, the tasks of President Ilham Aliyev on artificial increase of air ticket prices have been discussed.
AZAL President Jahangir Asgerov set the Management Board’s members a task on analyzing tariffs, determination of methods to reduce the prices, preparation of regulatory mechanism of tariffs and conditions of application new concessions.
He underlined importance of attraction of foreign tourists to Azerbaijan and said AZAL will organize special flights with low tariffs in tourism routes as soon as possible.
Along with this, Asgerov said some proposals on sale of certain seats with low tariff for existing flights have already been prepared and these tariffs will be applied soon.
Asgerov informed that experts of AZAL and Ministry of Economy and Industry are drafting proposals on ticket prices.
Board members decided that on the basis of results of analyze, proposals on reconsideration and optimizing mechanism of the prices should be prepared and submitted to the government.
