Certificate of Thanks presented to First European Gamesâ€™ volunteers

The presentation of Certificates took place on July 11, APA reports.

Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov and Education Minister Mikayil Jabbarov presented Certificates of Thanks to the first 50 young volunteers.

A.Rahimov said that during the Baku 2015 First European Games, the culture of volunteering appeared in the country: “We wrote out Azerbaijan in the history of Europe and the world. Thousands of volunteers took part in this process. However, only 50 youngsters attend today’s presentation. I think you represent thousands of volunteers here. President Ilham Aliyev and Chairperson of the Baku 2015 First European Games Organizing Committee Mehriban Aliyeva highly appreciated your merits. The certificates of Thanks have been signed by the two dear persons of Azerbaijan. This is the greatest value given to your merits. We couldn’t manage the work without you. Thanks to your help, we have carried out these works.”

Rahimov mentioned that the practice of volunteering can be used in the upcoming international sports events in the country. “We can use your merits in Formula 1 Grand Prix, Islamic Solidarity Games, World Chess Olympiad and the European Football Championship in 2020. We shouldn’t cut the relations with you.

The Educatyion Minister M.Jabbarov said that Baku 2015 First European Games is the greatest legacy for Azerbaijan. “I think that the greatest legacy that the First European Games left for Azerbaijan is human capital. 14,000 of over 17,000 volunteers represented various educational institutions. We are proud of it. As the Ministry of Education, we are ready to further contribute to this work. The First European Games served to promote the sport and demonstrated Azerbaijan in a different view in the map. Azerbaijan, as a great sports country, managed to decently host such a major event.

The rest certificates of thanks will be presented by Youth Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan next week.
