APA Holding issued more than 12,000 news releases about first European Games

Baku – APA. APA Holding has announced its report on the coverage of the Baku-2015 first-ever European Games.

A coordination center for the first European Games was created at APA Holding in March.

The coordination center, the main coordinator of which was Apasport, included editors and employees of the holding's substructures.

Since June 1, news releases, interviews, reportages, photo galleries and video materials prepared by the company have been published online and also delivered to subscribers in the form of daily news bulletin in Azerbaijani, Russian, and English.

29 employees of the company were accredited for the coverage of the Games.

According to statistics for June 30, the company has released a total of 12,373 news releases about the European Games. (4,826 by APA agency, 2,612 by Apasport agency, 2,115 by lent.az, 1,853 by vesti.az, and 967 news releases and reportages by APA TV).

APA Analytic Center has released about 40 analytic articles about the Baku 2015 and anti-Azerbaijani campaigns launched on the eve of the Games.

News releases and analyses prepared by the agency in 5 languages (Azerbaijan, Russian, English, French, and Arabic) have been published by hundreds of local and foreign media outlets.

Employees of the holding obtained exclusive interviews from local athletes, winning medals at the first European Games, and presented overview of semifinals and finals they reached. All events, held by the Baku 2015 European Games Operation Committee (BEGOC) and the National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan, were covered.

APA Holding’s photo correspondents took 1,500 photos during the Games, and photo galleries were posted by the holding’s substructures.

The holding’s structures also posted news on their pages on social networks with #Baku2015 hashtag. APA TV’s reportage on the final competition of Azerbaijani wrestler Rasul Junayev was viewed over 240,000 times.

On the eve of the European Games, APA TV prepared numerous reportages on sports venues, traffic rules in the city, the city's tourism facilities, cuisine to be presented to tourists, souvenirs to be on sale, ticket sales, our peoples’ expectations of the European Games, and athletes’ trainings for the major sports event. Moreover, a new program titled “European Games” was aired on APA TV. Heads of the National Olympic Committee, federations, and coaches of national teams joined the program, speaking about importance of the European Games, preparation process and expectations from local athletes.

“SÉ™hÉ™r zÉ™ngi”, “Sosium” and “ManÅŸet” programs, aired on APA TV, focused on the first European Games.

APA TV broadcasted live the opening and closing ceremonies of the European Games and the sports competitions of interest for the Azerbaijani audience.

During the sports event, APA TV learnt tourists’ views on Azerbaijan and prepared reportages on events held for tourists.

The news releases, stories, reportages and programs were also available on the official Youtube channel of APA TV.

In general, 70-80 percent of APA TV news releases and “Ana xÉ™bÉ™r” program were devoted to the competitions held as part of the first European Games. News of APA TV, which is on the top among online televisions in Azerbaijan, was viewed over 174,000 times on June 12-28.
