Ali Hasanov, the Azerbaijani president’s aide for public and political affairs, head of the pubic affairs department at the President Administration, made the remarks Monday at the scientific and practical conference on “National press of Azerbaijan – 140: Ekinchi traditions and modern journalism".

Hasanov said the independent media is capable of carrying problems of the Azerbaijani state and respond to biased articles in foreign media.

“Every journalist has to remember that they represent the people and state. Loyalty to the people and state cannot be overshadowed. So many standards have emerged in the modern world that even standards of western media which have been promoting to this day no longer work. Transnational media represented by the West expresses the interests of particular centers, and these interests are presented as the only unbiased information. But we do know that what is happening in Asia and Africa are not as it’s presented. Remember what these countries have been through over the last decade and how they had Muslim countries fought one another? Some forces look for political prisoners around the world. Today’s number one political prisoner is Mohamed Morsi. In such a world where multi standards are prevailing, some journalists offer support and assistance to them. They also use some Azerbaijani journalists living abroad,” the president’s aide noted.
