Baku. Vusal Nabiyev – APA-Economics. In January-April 2015, 17.9 mln tonnes of cargo and 107.3 mln of passengers were transported through Azerbaijan’s part of Silk Road transportation corridor, the State Statistical Committee told APA.
9.8 mln tonnes or 54.8% of cargos were transported via motor transport, 5.6 mln tonnes or 31.4% - via railway traffic and 2.5 mln tonnes or 13.8% - via sea traffic.
“Profit from freight traffic accounted for AZN 175.9 mln, from passenger transportation – 39.9 mln. These indicators respectively increased by 9.5% and 14.4% over the last year.”
