Baku. Konul Kamilqizi – APA. Religious stability is dominant in Azerbaijan. Therefore, there is a zero probability of any religious group or movement harming the upcoming European Games, Mubariz Gurbanli, Chairman of the State Committee on Religious Organizations, said Thursday.
According to Mubariz Gurbanli, preventive measures, especially those carried out by law enforcement agencies, have fully ensured religious stability.
“Various elements of religious radicalism can be noticed in Azerbaijan but are unlikely to affect social, political and moral life,” he added.
He also said the European Games are of historical, psychological, political, economic, and spiritual importance to Azerbaijan. “The fact that Azerbaijan is going to be the first country to host the Games is an even of pride for every citizen. The holding of the European Game sin our country is also ideologically important against anti-Azerbaijan authorities as well as our adversary Armenia and the Armenian lobby,” he noted.
According to M. Qurbanli, in Azerbaijan there is no religious group or movement capable of destabilizing religious tranquility. “The European Games will be held at a high level, attempts to harm the Games will prove unsuccessful,” he said.
