Salyan. Alibey Zeynalli – APA. The flame of the First European Games has arrived in Salyan district leaving Jalilabad district.

The flame ignited in Ateshgah, the ancient fire temple of the capital, was met at the entrance of the town.

The torch relay, going round the Kur River, started at 12:20.

Kick boxer and trainer Rahil Isgandarov accepted the torch and continued the march with his 10 colleagues. The athletes handing over the symbolic torch over 3,200 meters took it to Heydar Aliyev Park. Second year student of the State Academy of Physical Culture and Sport, boxer Javid Guliyev raised the torch to the stage in the Square and lit the commemorative lamp.

The video reflecting the ceremony of capture of the first European Games Flame in Ateshgah temple, which was attended by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, chairperson of the Baku-2015 First European Games Organizing Committee Mehriban Aliyeva, President of the European Olympic Committees Patrick Hickey and more than 150 guests on April 26, was shown.

Later, 11th grade student of Salyan district Ashiq Panah school-lyceum took over the commemorative lamp to keep until the end of the Games.

The participants revived that event with a concert in the town center of Salyan. The torch was sent to Neftchala district.
