Azerbaijani-Turkish joint air exercises in Konya to last till April 13  - <span style="color: red;">UPDATED-1

Baku. Agha Jafarli - APA. The Defense Ministry has issued a statement on the commencement of joint exercises “TURAZ Falcon 2015” of the Azerbaijani and Turkish Air Forces according to the annual military cooperation plan between the two countries.
In order to participate in the joint exercises, three MiG-29 jet fighters, three Su-25 attack aircrafts and IL-76 military transport aircraft belonging to the Azerbaijani Air Forces arrived at the airbase located in the Turkish city of Konya.
Moreover, four Mi-17 transport helicopters of the Azerbaijani Air Forces arrived in Konya to attend Light-2015 international search-and-rescue exercises.
Along with Azerbaijan and Turkey, Air Forces of several countries will implement tasks on joint planning, study of opportunities for interaction on conducting operations, as well as search, rescue and others.
The exercises will last till April 13.

F-16, F-4E 2020, E-7T (HÄ°K) aircrafts, AS-532, UN-1H helicopters of the Turkish Air Forces and MIG-29, SU-25 aircrafts and Mi-17 helicopters of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces are involved in the exercises which are being conducted at the Anatolian Eagle Training Center, APA reports citing Anadolu agency.
Furthermore, 106 servicemen of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces are attending the exercises.
It is the first foreign flight exercises attended by the Azerbaijani Air Forces.
The exercises are aimed at further developing flying abilities.
Information and experiences on weapon systems will be shared at the flight exercises to which methods of international flights will be applied.
Exercises entitled "war air circulation", "protection", "air war", "close air support", “air campaign against surface elements” will also be conducted.
Representative of the Azerbaijani Air Forces Elchin Akhundov thanked Turkey for holding the exercises.
“I thank you for warm welcome and this historic day. The first exercise of international flight of the Air Forces is being hosted by Turkey. I am very excited. We wrote the history”, he said.
