Baku. Vusal Nabiyev - APA-Economics. Baku Metro will not increase fares, head of press service of Baku Metro CJSC Nasimi Pashayev said in APA TV’s “Sosium” telecast.
He noted that the fare is determined by the Tariff Council and the CJSC does not intend to the council in this regard.
“It goes without saying that passenger transportation costs exceed fares. However, the government allocates funds to Baku Metro every year and we compensate these costs. Along with this, there were rumours that the fares will be increased following decline in the manat exchange rate. Nevertheless, we have not appealed to the Tariff Council”, Pashayev said.
