64.7% of applicants failed in Azerbaijan entrance examinations

Baku. Konul Kamilgizi – APA. In 2014, 64.7% of applicants gained less than 200 points in entrance examinations in Azerbaijan, APA reports.

SSAC Chairwoman Maleyka Abbaszade said during the presentation of the 12th edition of the magazine Abituriyent that the maximal point is 700 in entrance examinations.

“If we conditionally divide the range of 0-700 points into 0-200, 200-300, 300-500, 500-700 intervals and crate analogy with "2", "3", "4", "5" marks, we can see that 64.7% of applicants got 2, 13.6% - 3, 15.7% - 4, 6.0% - 5 marks,” she noted.

The SSAC chairwoman said these figures were relevantly 65.0%, 13.8%, 15.7% and 5.6% last year, stressing that the percent of applicants getting 2 and 3 marks decreased, those getting 5 rose and 4 remained unchanged.

“Of course, the changes in the structure of the distribution of scores of applicants in the entrance exams and admission plan were reflected in the distribution of scores of admitted applicants. 29.9% of students got 3, 40.2% - 4, 15.5% - 5. These figures were relevantly 27.7%, 41.3% and 14.8% in the previous year. All of applicants getting points below 100, 19% of applicants getting 100-200 points are those selecting specialties requiring special abilities. Unfortunately, over 40% of applicants from Dashkesen, Aghsu, Khachmaz, Astara, Samukh, Ujar, Gusar, Aghdash, Gobustan, Sabirabad, Zerdab, Goranboy, Lerik, Shabran, Guba, Imishli and Yardimli districts, as well as Kengerli, Sederek and Babek districts of Nakhchivan AR received points below 100,” she completed.
