Kyrgyz mobile operator makes international calls to occupied Azerbaijani territories

Baku. Malahat Najafova – APA. "O!" mobile operator of Kyrgyzstan's famous "NUR Telecom" makes international calls to Nagorno Karabakh.

Azerbaijani citizen living in Kyrgyzstan Vusal Azayev told APA that he entered www.o.kg to get information about the operator's tariffs for international calls:

“I clicked on menu “International traffic”, then entered active link entitled “price of 1 minute call within "the whole world!" service” and then opened the list of price of 1 minute calls. (http://www.o.kg/files/%20itogovyiy%20s%20tsenami%20(dlya%20sayta%20RUS)%20ves%20mir!.pdf). Nagorno-Karabakh is presented as the territory of Armenia and the prices of phone calls there were posted,” he said.

Vusal Azayev sent a letter to the administration of the company in this regard, also sent copies of the letter to State Communications Agency under the Government of Kyrgyz Republic and Azerbaijani Embassy in Kyrgyzstan. He noted in the letter that Azerbaijan is in a state of war with Armenia, and Nagorno-Karabakh is a historical territory of Azerbaijan.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hikmet Hajiyev told APA that the Azerbaijani embassy in Kyrgyzstan will be instructed in order to investigate the matter and take necessary measures.

“This type of illegal contacts and illegal economic activity with the illegal regime created in occupied Azerbaijani territories are on the agenda of the Foreign Ministry and diplomatic missions. Such “roaming contracts” of Karabakh Telecom Company which operates in the occupied territories and violates Azerbaijan’s telecommunication space have already been terminated in many countries thanks to the efforts of the Foreign Ministry and our diplomatic missions,” he underlined.

H. Hajiyev noted that this case too will be investigated and all necessary actions taken.
