Kapital Bank’s Viability Rating upgraded

Baku. Yegane Lachinzade - APA-Economics. “Fitch” upgraded Kapital Bank’s rating Vital achievements on key activity signs of Kapital bank for 2014 have been referred in ratings given by “Fitch” International Rating Agency. Agency has upgraded sustainability rating (Viability Rating) of the bank from “b-” to “b”. This upward change in bank’s Viability Rating is motivated by improved performance and stronger capitalisation. Then, upgrading of viability rating reflects Kapital bank’s both sufficient strength and outcome of extensive capital buffer in possible changes in asset quality. This fact proves successful realisation of a new development strategy and business plan of Kapital bank.

Fitch Ratings for Kapital Bank are as follows:

-Long-term foreign currency IDR: B + (stable outlook)

-Short-term foreign currency IDR: B

-Support Rating: 4

-Long-term support rating floor IDR: B +

The Agency highlighted the role of the Bank, as having largest service network in Azerbaijan, in implementation of various social projects with public importance. "Fitch" also focused on achieved results of Kapital bank in the field of retail lending and high profitability in recent period. It is also mentioned that due to the applied mechanisms, credit risk is in its minimum level.

"Fitch" robustly valued also the liquidity position of Kapital bank. Noted that, liquidity position of the Bank is strong due to owning enough deposit collection capabilities and not using financing from non-governmental sources in its large volume debt.
