Negotiations are underway to supply Russian beef, poultry and processed meat products to Turke, APA reports quoting Ä°TAR-TASS.

The issue was discussed on Wednesday at a session of the Russian-Turkish intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation, as follows from the protocol of the meeting.

“Considering Russia’s interest in supplies of Russian animal products to Turkey, the Turkish side will provide (Russian veterinary and phytosanitary agency) Rosselkhoznadzor with information on veterinary and sanitary requirements for importing the aforesaid products to the republic, as well as with sample documents which should accompany consignments,” the protocol said.

“It is quite possible that we formally launch exports of meat and meat products to Turkey in 2015,” said Alexey Alekseenko, an aide to the Russian agency's head, adding that Russian supplies could help the republic satisfy growing demand for meat products during the peak of the tourist season.
