The deputy minister said the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) and the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) are implementing a large program in this field and the joint projects implemented by MES and UNICEF in Gabala are the parts of this program.
He mentioned that the atlas of risk will cover not only natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes, landslides, but also level man-made disasters.
“Azerbaijan also has a large oil industry. The level of man-made risks is high in this field. The main purpose is to prevent disasters and importance of work done in this regard should be underlined. UNICEF supports us in this field. Similar works will be carried out in other regions", he said.
