Ankara. Mayis Alizadeh – APA. “Sealing of Turkish-Armenian borders is the result of occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia. Those doors were closed as Armenia occupied Azerbaijani territories”, said the Former head of the Executive Office of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, former ambassador to Azerbaijan, CHP MP for Adana Faruk LoÄŸoÄŸlu while commenting on the international conference on International Conference "Sealed door: future of Turkish-Armenian border" held in Ankara University.

He said that such conferences do not influence the Turkish foreign policy: “The occupation has not been eliminated. Opening of borders will justify Armenia’s aggressive policy. Turkey repeatedly warned Armenia to unconditionally leave Azerbaijan’s occupied territories in accordance with the international law. However, Armenia has not observed decisions of international organizations on lieration of these territories. Therefore, if Armenia thinks about opening of borders as a resultof such conferences, Armenia may dare to extend its aggressive policy. On the other hand, the occupied lands belong to Azerbaijan. Changing Turkey’s official policy as a result of conferences under the name of “sealed doors” may cause deterioration of relations with Azerbaijan. This is an unacceptable situation”.
