Azerbaijani defense minister meets with Pakistani president

Mr. Mamnoon Hussain said Pakistan attaches high importance to its relations with Azerbaijan, expressing his confidence that defense, economic and trade relations between the two countries will continue to strengthen, the Pakistani president’s official website said.

The president assured that his country will provide continuous support to Azerbaijan regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. He also praised Azerbaijan supporting Pakistan’s position over a peaceful settlement of the Kashmir issue in line with the UN resolutions and the Kashmiri people’s wishes.

Hussain commends the agreement on the disinterested and efficient training of Azerbaijani servicemen at the Pakistani Armed Forces’ training organizations.

The Pakistani president said he asks President Ilham Aliyev for Azerbaijan’s support to Pakistan’s accession to TRACECA.

Defense Minister, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov extended gratitude to the Pakistani president for the meeting, expressing his confidence of the future development of bilateral cooperation between the two countries in different areas.

Note that, Commander of the Air Forces, Lieutenant General Ramiz Tahirov and Chief of the Defense Ministry’s Office of International Military Cooperation, Major General Huseyn Mahmudov are members of the delegation.
