Ciftci said that persons, becoming refugees and internally displaced persons as a result of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, appealed to the European Court of Human Rights regarding right to housing and property. He asked whether the Court regards such appeals as legal or international problems.

Chairman of Steering Committee for Human Rights (CDDH) of the Council of Europe, Vit Alexander Schorm said it is wrong to respond questions that have not been investigated yet.

“It would be better for President of the European Court of Human Rights, Dean Spielmann to answer this question, if he was hare,” he added.

Deputy Director of Department for the Execution of Judgments of the European Court of Human Rights, Fredrik Sundberg also refused answering the question on refugees and IDPs. He commented on the protest of Judge of the Azerbaijani Supreme Court Vafeddin Ibayev against the European Court’s judgment on the release of Eynulla Fatullayev and said that the Court passed such a decision as there were serious problems in Fatullayev’s case and not sufficient grounds to confirm the charges against him.
