Azerbaijani Embassy in Ottawa offers condolences to Canadian people

Baku. Anakhanum Idoyatova - APA. The Embassy of Azerbaijan offers their sincere condolences to the Canadian Armed Forces, the Canadian Government and the Canadian people for their loss of two Canadian soldiers, the Embassy posted on its official Facebook page, APA reports.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of those soldiers, and to all those who were wounded and affected by this tragedy”, said the message of condolences.

On October 22, a gunman shot and wounded a soldier at the National War Memorial in Ottawa and then entered the country's parliament buildings chased by police. Two soldiers were killed. Parliament was locked down and Prime Minister Stephen Harper had left the building safely as police converged on the area.

The gunman was killed by police.
