What is happening in Karabakh are familiar situation. The separatists in Ukraine prevent the government from conducting elections in some constituencies. All should respect for human rights in the region. Lech WaÅ‚Ä™sa was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize not for changing the communist regime but for conducting the changes by peaceful and democratic means. This main point should be taken into account in the Karabakh settlement as well", he said.
Å»urek, who is leading the Polish delegation at the international conference on "The role of national judges in the domestic application of European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms” in Baku, expressed his satisfaction with his first visit to Azerbaijan.
“The world press disseminates various articles about Azerbaijan from time to time. However, this conference allows representatives from all the countries of Europe to learn about the situation and explore issues of concern to them. We are pleased to have co-operation with Azerbaijan and this country’s activities within the Council of Europe. Some problems may occur, but such cases were once observed in Poland. Currently, your country is developing and your economic development surprises us. We would like positive changes in Azerbaijan to speed up even more,” he said.
