SOCAR controls 25% of retail sale market of oil products in Georgia

Baku. Agshin Rafigoglu – APA-Economics. Today, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) provides 90% of Georgian gas supply. Tens of gas distributor network of neighbor countries are controlled by SOCAR Energy Georgia, said the SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev in his article published in Azerbaijan newspaper.

According to the article, 4,600 km of gas lines have been constructed in Georgia, gasifying level reached 695%, up to 16,000 subscribers have been supplied with gas: “Today, SOCAR controls 25% of retail sale market of oil products in Georgia. Moreover, 114 filling stations under the SOCAR brand operate in Georgia”.

The article also says that Kulevi Black Sea Terminal, acquired by SOCAR in 2006, plays an important role in transportation of crude oil and oil products from Azerbaijan and Central Asian countries to the world market.
