The statement came from chairman of the Mountain Jews Community in Baku Milikh Yevdayev during an event held at the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations to award head of the Alban-Udin Religious Community Robert Mobili “Shohret” (Glory) order under Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s order.

Milikh Yevdayev said there’s no anti-Semitism in Azerbaijan and it’s frequently stated throughout the world.

“The Israeli Defense Minister once visited Red Village in Guba for half an hour, but lingered an hour and half. The Israeli Foreign Minister also came for half an hour and he stayed about two hours as well. Because they saw how happily we live. That’s why I call on Jews to live in Azerbaijan. If we, Jews, have been living here for 2,000 years, we’re going to live for another 2,000 years here”.
