Twente began to take control as the half went on, and Kasper Kusk saw a shot blocked from close range before Luc Castaignos finally opened the scoring on 37 minutes. The striker raced onto Kyle Ebecilio’s through ball before slotting into the net.
Five minutes into the second half Karabakh stunned Twente on the counter attack, with Muarem Muarem brilliantly finishing off the swift move to give the Azerbaijan side a precious away goal.
After the 0-0 draw in Baku last week, Twente needed nothing but a win.
