Iraqi Embassy in Azerbaijan: “We urge our citizens and Yezidi Kurds not to visit Nagorno-Karabakh

Commenting on the fact that the separatist regime set up by Armenian occupying forces invite Yezidi Kurds, the Iraqi citizens to Nagorno-Karabakh, the Ambassador stated that official Baghdad recognizes the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. “Our state has recognized the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and the UN resolutions are also available regarding it. According to the international law, one must respect the territorial integrity of another state. Any visits to Azerbaijani territories or relationships without the permission of official Baku are illegal. We advise our citizens and also Yezidi Kurds to be outside the conflict and the zone of conflict”, the ambassador said.

“The situation in north Iraq is improving and with the support of the US the groups of the Islamic State are being displaced from the civilian populated areas. Several countries promise to grant asylums, but the situation is improving and the safety of Iraqi citizens will be restored as soon as possible", The Embassy added.
