He said that the previous minister resigned for such reasons: “My first goal in this government is to restore relations with Azerbaijan in this sphere in the most comprehensive form. My priority is to achieve high level of relations with my homeland Azerbaijan in all fields, including regional development that is important for the Latvian economy.”
The Minister noted that he had already started working in this direction, thus Latvia sent a letter to Azerbaijan on his initiative.
Naudins's grandfather Idris Ibrahimov is from Azerbaijan’s Siyazan region.
Meetings are being held with the Azerbaijanis operating in Baltic countries within the joint project of APA Holding and the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of Azerbaijan Republic titled “Azerbaijanis outside the border…”.
