Colonel General Zakir Hasanov met İsmet Yılmaz at the Nakhchivan International Airport. Later, an official welcoming ceremony for the delegation led by İsmet Yılmaz was held at the Headquarters of the Detached Troop Army. A guard of honor lined up for the Turkish National Defense Minister.
During the meeting attended by the delegations, Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov noted that military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey has been built upon friendly and fraternal relations, adding that these relations are continuously developing and are beneficial to both countries.
İsmet Yılmaz spoke of the role and importance of such meetings in terms of strengthening bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey.
Later on, the parties exchanged their ideas on other issues of regional and bilateral cooperation.
İsmayıl Alper Coşkun, Turkish ambassador to Azerbaijan, also took part in the meeting.
