Baku-APA. Germany's richest man, also the co-founder of German discount supermarket chain Aldi, Karl Albrecht, died last Wednesday in Essen at the age of 94, German media reported on Monday, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

The burial of Karl Albrecht on Monday was presenting with only the most intimate family members, a spokesman for the city of Essen confirmed to the German media.

According to the report, the grave is just a few meters away from that of his brother Theo, who died four years ago.

Together with his brother Theo Albrecht, Karl Albrecht founded Aldi, one of the most successful corporations in the postwar period in Germany, from a grocery store of their mother in the German city of Essen.
