Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Refugees and IDPs, Ali Hasanov told the aforesaid to journalists in Aghdam, APA’s Karabakh bureau reports.

He said the Armenian side is breaching the international acts regarding the rules of conduct with hostages and prisoners of war.

“As reports were released about the hostages, Mr. President immediately took control over the issue and gave instructions to relevant bodies. I met with the ICRC Baku Office representatives under the president’s instruction. They kept in touch with the ICRC offices in Yerevan and Khankandi. So far, a meeting with Dilgam and Shahbaz who were taken hostages has failed. We know how ruthlessly they are being treated in Armenia,” he said.

Hasanov noted that if the Armenian leadership and special agencies torture those persons, hatred between the two nations will further increase.

“They should understand that Armenians can be treated in the same manner when they are taken hostages by Azerbaijan and we will not turn a blind eye to the atrocities against our compatriots.”
