Baku. Gulnar Bashirova – APA. “There is no a serious pressure by the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs on the non-constructive position of Armenia. There is still no result. Therefore, the President of Azerbaijan is dissatisfied with the course of negotiations and the activities of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs as a whole. We think that if negotiations are continued without any pressure on Armenia, it will not produce results. However, we see no alternative for the negotiations. The only alternative is war. We believe that there is still the possibility of a peaceful settlement of Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, because the international community has not fully expressed its position. This conflict will be settled peacefully and the occupants will step back if the international community starts exerting a serious pressure on Armenia,” head of the Socio-Political Affairs Department at Azerbaijan’s Presidential Administration, Ali Hasanov told APA.
Hasanov said the right to determine the fate of Armenians living in Nagorno-Karabakh can only be realized within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan: “In recent times, the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict has become topical. Because this unresolved conflict increases the number of such conflicts in the world and these conflicts continue threatening to regional and international peace and security.”
Chairman of NAP Commission on inter-party ties Hasanov touched upon the issue of cooperation with other political parties as well. He said it was proposed at the commission’s meeting that next time it shouldn’t be only a gathering of committee members, but members of other political parties represented in the parliament should also be invited:
“Because the mission of the commission is to establish inter-party dialogue and cooperation. These commissions of NAP, as a rulling party, play an influential role in defining policy and inter-party ties in the Azerbaijani society. Therefore, I proposed to invite other parties to the commission’s meetings.”
Hasanov didn’t exclude the possibility of the invitation of parties that are not represented in the parliament.
