State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations: Control stamp will be attached to all religious books in the near future

Baku. Mubariz Aslanov – APA. The State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations will make examination on the fact that Gazakh Police Office revealed religious books and teaching lessons on “Nurculuk” movement at the home owned by local resident Gasimov Mahmud Humbat living in Russia.

The Committee’s press service told APA that the revealed religious books will be examined by the Committee’s Religious Studies department, according to results of the examination, legality of the acquisition, production (or import) and utilization of these books will be determined.

The State Committee also said that under the 22nd article of the Law on Freedom of Religion, the citizens and religious groups can acquire religious literature (via paper and electronic media), audio and video materials, goods and other religious materials with the control stamps given by the relevant authority power and use them.

Religious organizations, other non-religious legal entities and individuals may produce, import, export any religious literature (via paper and electronic media), audio and video materials, goods and other religious materials under the agreement of the relevant authority power, as well as disseminate them after control stamp is attached.

Currently, the Committee is taking relevant measures.

After application of new rules, all books will have control stamp and dissemination of these books will be considered expedient within the legislation.
