Zakir Hasanov: “Reforms continue in the army by the Azerbaijani President’s order”

Baku. Mubariz Aslanov – APA. “The tension has not escalated on the contact line of Azerbaijani and Armenian troops as mentioned,” said Azerbaijani Defense Minister, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, APA reports.

“However the ceasefire is violated repeatedly. Everyone should be sure that the Azerbaijani Army is very strong and properly responds to the enemy.”

Hasanov said the reforms continue in the army by the Azerbaijani President’s order: “As a part of these reforms, Army Special Forces was created to further strengthen the protection of Nakhchivan. We held large-scale military exercises in Nakhchivan to check the activity and readiness of this army. 11 brigades demonstrated high-level of readiness in the exercises. I as minister can say surely that I’m pleased with the activity of the Army Special Forces.”

Hasanov also commented on his visit to the frontline: “I witnessed the courage of our soldiers, they are not afraid of enemy and are ready to perform their tasks.”
